baseball!
Another great night at Citi Field. We saw the Mets vs. the Giants.
As always, we parked across the street from the stadium. You can't get across Roosevelt Avenue before the game, you have to walk upstairs to the 7 train and walk down again. You visit the Shea Stadium Home Run Apple before entering the Rotunda, with its salute to number 42. we like eating in the clubs.
This time around we ate in the Caesar Club. Nice, quiet, air conditioned. I had sweet Italian sausage. Drew had a steak sandwich. Flo had a burger.
Citi Field is always interesting. The planes from LA Guardia fly overhead. Mr. Met drums up support from the crowd. This time there was a group sitting in the outfield, all wearing orange shirts that said "party in the outfield. "
I even managed to catch a photo of the sunset through a gap in the stadium wall.
I read in the paper that we missed some pretty game excitement. Fan leaning over the outfield wall during batting practice fell onto the field and broke his arm.
It was a great game. Pitcher's duel, both carrying a no-no into the 7th inning. Final score Mets4, Giants 2.
And afterwards there were fireworks. 12 minutes of spectacular effects.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday night.
