1. Last time you moved house? Something you've learned in moving house? I won't talk about the most recent.  Let me tell you about the worst.  It was when my older daughter was still a baby, before younger daughter was born.  The three of us were living in a one-bedroom apartment.  We found a two-bedroom apartment four blocks away.  We rented a truck and got a group of friends together, the same friends who'd helped us move into the one-bedroom before Jen was born.   It was supposed to take a few hours.  We were still moving furniture at 4 AM, when we called it a night and decided to move the rest of the stuff the next day.  When we moved out of that apartment a few years later, we hired a moving company. 2. Move mountains, move along, make a wrong move, moved to tears, get a move on, move up, move over, move out of the way, move the deck chairs on the Titanic, move it!...pick one and tell us how it fits your recent circumstances. Moved to tears...of frustration.  I am

The Love Boat Welcome to  Saturday 9 . What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme.  Saturday 9: The Love Boat (1977)   Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it  here . 1) The  Love Boat  ran from 1977 to 1987. It was in the Top 10 for seven of those 10 seasons. Are you familiar with the show? Were you a fan?  I was a huge fan for most of the run, but I stopped watching after Lauren Tewes left the show. 2) Every week, viewers followed  The Pacific Princess  as she set sail to a glamorous destination. Have you ever taken a cruise? If so, where did you go?   We took several cruises  -- to t

I have always been a fan of the game show Jeopardy!   I remember watching it with the original host, Art Fleming, and I remember feeling excited when the show was revived in the 1980's with Alex Trebek as host.  Well, thanks to coronavirus, the show is not currently producing new episodes.  to fill in the gap, the producers are pulling out episodes from the vault. On Monday they aired the very first episode from 1984, and on Tuesday they aired the second episode.  It's interesting to see what has changed and what has remained the same.  But what made me laugh -- when the contestants were introduced to the audience, there was a male contestant whose profession was "registered nurse" and a female contestant who was identified as a carpenter, and Trebek was sure that the man was a carpenter and the woman was a nurse.  Even in 1984 that was a bit sexist, wasn't it? Last night there was a report on the news that  Ellen's Stardust Diner   might be permanently close

1.  Do you think the pandemic has had any kind of positive impact on your mental health? Explain. Not one bit.  Truly, it's been a struggle.  I haven't seen the inside of my house since March -- I live with my mother and my sisters,  I am "temporarily" staying with my boyfriend Drew to protect my 87-year-old mom from the virus.   Drew, who was so sick from Covid 19 for three weeks in March and April, and is still not 100%.   I am constantly worrying about my older daughter Jen, who is considered "essential" and has been on the job all during the pandemic, and she lives with her boyfriend, a health care worker.  I am worried about my younger daughter Becca, who was in Barcelona when the travel ban was announced and had to scramble to get home, and who has been alone in her apartment for most of the pandemic.  And oh, yeah, I started a new job on March 23, the day the company sent everyone home to work remotely, so I have never met most of my coworkers. 2.

Baseball Is Back!

Yes,  Major League Baseball has finally returned to NYC. Baseball returned Saturday night in Queens.  The Mets hosted the Yankees at Citi Field for an exhibition game.  It was good to see Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling and Gary Cohen in the SNY broadcast booth. (SNY is the cable network that carries the Mets games.)  Or rather, booths — Cohen socially distanced by sitting in a different booth than Darling and Hernandez.  It was good to see the teams take the field.    It was weird to see the coaches and umpires wearing masks.  It was weird to see the empty stands, and cardboard cutouts of fans in the seats behind home plate.  It was weird to hear the fake crowd noises. Clint Frazier played nine innings of baseball while wearing a mask.  Even hit a home run.  No excuses, folks. Interesting fact.  The players are being given prepackaged meals, which they are eating in the Delta Club.  That’s usually a bar/restaurant for fans; I’ve enjoyed many meals in the Delta Club. And yes, the Mets are
