Pomodorino

Pomodorino Ristorante Italiano Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Neighborhood Italian place, very casual.  Cozy dining room, friendly waitstaff.

Loved the bread basket.  In addition to artisanal Italian bread, there was garlicky flat bread.  I would have liked some olive oil for dipping the bread.

We started with baked clams -- whole little neck clams dressed with bread crumbs and a lemony butter sauce.

House salad was an interesting mix of lettuce, carrots and onions, with cucumber and tomato slices, in a fresh creamy Italian dressing.

We enjoyed our entrees.

Veal Parmigianna -- a tender portion of veal, fried crisp and not greasy, topped with (but not smothered by) mozzarella and tomato sauce, served with a side of spaghetti in tomato sauce.

Veal Marsala -- veal served in a rich Marsala sauce, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables.

We usually don't order dessert, but couldn't resist the huge cannoli, served with fresh whipped cream. Coffee was a bit on the strong side.

Portions are substantial, and we brought home leftovers.

Two small complaints, both involving service.

First issue.  After we had finished our salads, we noticed that the diners at the next table were offered fresh pepper for their salads; we had not been offered pepper.

Second issue.  I should not have to ask for my water glass to be refilled, let alone have to make the same request three times before getting my refill.

Overall, though, it was a nice dinner.  I would definitely go back.
