This and that
For some reason my laptop isn’t talking to my printer. The printer and my iPad are getting along just fine, but the laptop …I wound up emailing the document to myself from my laptop to the iPad, and then printing it. Frustrating, but I did what I needed to do.
Dealing with all the tasks, great and small, that are related to moving house. Utilities, insurance, moving company …packing, packing, packing ….
I’m loving Home Depot right now. They were able to match the paint in the old house, I bought a tiny can to do some touch ups where the paint chipped.
The property manager came by the new house today to go over the things that need to be fixed. Nothing major, but there are a few items on the list. Contractors showed up and began to work …
Yesterday I did my first “change of address”, the first of many. You have no idea how many people know where you live until you have to change your address…
The reason I did an address change …I bought a dress. It’s a casual cotton sundress, suitable for … well, the day after the wedding we’re having brunch with all of the out-of-town guests. I had nothing suitable in my closet. The only thing that I had, that would have worked, is two sizes too big …oh, well, had to shop for something new. And if I add a cardigan or a shrug, the dress is ok for my business casual office,
Now I just have to figure out what I’m wearing to …we’re not calling it a rehearsal dinner, more like a casual meet-and-greet. It’s cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at a brewery, very casual, should be fun. I saw an outfit that would have been appropriate, but it was on clearance and now it’s gone. I have something in my closet that would be ok, so it’s not a big deal.
Today Becca told me she had a discussion with her wedding coordinator about my need for gluten free food. Both of my daughters have been very solicitous of my needs, especially Becca. Becca also suggested I try a local gluten-free bakery, a place called Bare Naked Bakery. You know, the place I blogged about last week … Great minds think alike.
Time to go back to packing …
This is why my printer still has a cable attached. Those wireless printers just don't connect for the weirdest reasons. I hope you're able to get it fixed (or it fixes on its own).
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you found a workaround to print your document, even though it was a bit of a hassle. The address change saga is so relatable. It’s wonderful that your daughters are so considerate about your dietary needs. Good luck with the rest of your packing!
