Ramblings
More “it’s good to have a birthday”. Dinner at Seasons 52. The menu changed with the seasons, hence the name …The server handed me a”gluten friendly” menu! I had a (gluten free);flatbread with mushrooms, goat cheese and truffle oil.
My entree was a pork chop with red cabbage. Drew had the pork chop, but mashed potatoes instead of the cabbage. I had a glass of Prosecco.
And dessert …
Drew had the raspberry cream shooter with a cannoli shell, mine was the key lime pie (gluten free!) shooter.
It’s been so cold around here that I haven’t been able to walk the neighborhood. But I did notice that my next door neighbor took down their Valentine’s Day garden flag and put up a flag for St. Patrick’s Day. ☘️
There’s a house about three blocks away that’s still fully decorated for Christmas. The folks who live there built a real snowman right after the recent storms. But the snow has been melting and what’s left of the snowman looks so sad,
We’re expecting snow showers tonight. I’m starting to really not like snow …
I’m still bingeing Mr. Ballen podcasts. Strange, dark and mysterious … There’s a lot of overlap between the YouTube videos and the podcasts, so I’m skipping a lot of the older podcasts … Drew and I are still watching Star Trek:Enterprise, the prequel show with Scott Bakula. It ran for four seasons, after all. We’re trying to get through most of the episodes before baseball session. We watch a lot of Mets games during the season.
The first spring training games start this weekend, and before you know it Opening Day will be here. We’ve already lost one starting pitcher to injury, but overall the team looks good.
Our other team, the Long Island Ducks, will have a special celebration season. The Ducks’ first season was summer 2000, so this year is their 25th anniversary. Opening Day is April 25. Should be fun.
Sigh. But it’s not spring yet.
Spring will be here soon. April 25th? That's my twin nephews' birthday :)
