Music Monday

So I’ve been getting lazy lately, not paying close  attention to my diet and I stopped exercising.  I need to turn that around.

I felt the need to increase my vegetables.  So I tried some of the leftover meat sauce over riced cauliflower.  Yummy, almost as good as Zoodles.  I’m going to have to experiment with riced veggies. I’m told that you can mix riced veggies with actual rice … may have to try that.  Maybe fried rice? With gluten free soy sauce, of course.

I bought turkey cutlets, now I need a good recipe … something lower in calories and gluten free …

It’s been too cold to walk, and besides, several of my neighbors are apparently allergic to shoveling snow off their sidewalks  … but the weather has warmed up again, the snow is gone, so I’m going for a walk …

And I’m also using some interesting workout videos I found on YouTube.  I’m feeling a bit stiff, but if I start stretching again …

Hmmm … I think I’ve come up with this week’s music theme!

We start with a great fitness video.

Now let’s find a few activities.  Roller skating,

Bicycling.

Running.

Jumping,

Walking,

Get on your feet…

Yeah, that feels so good … keep moving ….

Yeah … (thank you, Cathy, for that last one …)

  1. Moving, dance, etc. is such a great theme I might just steal it for a future post of mine. You might be interested in a blog post I did in 2014 on the Chicken Fat song, which was written by Meredith Wilson for President Kennedy's drive to increase physical fitness in Americans. (Yes, I'm old enough to remember President Kennedy's U.S. Physical Fitness program in my elementary school.) Good luck with your walks!

  2. Fun theme. I do long fast walks (11kms) or 7kms in an hour regularly and a dance class tho this weekend and next weekend I've been/am going away, so trying to squeeze in something during the week. Good themes! (And Cathy, I couldn't find the comment on your post, if you see this. Sorry) #MondayMusicmovesme

  6. Fabulous theme for this week! I finally got myself on the elliptical today for the first time in months. It's time to get myself slimmed down and back into shape. Best of luck to you in your exercise and diet routine. It's hard work but you will be happy to see the progress. I'm very anxious to see and feel some change. Have a boogietastic week, darlin'! xo

  8. A great list of songs to get one's butt moving. Of course, I'm sitting. It was fun to see that first one and makes me think of all the workout videos back in the day. Jump is popular but I'm sick of it now plus I always found the 2 leads...creepy. Live let's get physical which is quite suggestive.
