another this and that
Sure sign of spring: Opening Day of baseball season. The Mets played their first game yesterday. A new poll shows that the Mets are more popular than the Yankees in NYC these days. Let's Go Mets!
One of our friends suggested that when we go to Philadelphia, we should try to see a Phillies game. I looked up their schedule, and the team is on the road that week. Give you three guesses where they'll be playing. Yeah ... you guessed it, they're playing the Mets at Citi Field.
So my sister H and I did some mega shopping for Passover. We spent a small fortune, we bought all the matza products, the frozen gefilte fish, the macaroons, the Barton's candy, and the kosher-for-Passover Coke, made with sugar instead of corn syrup (and yes, you can taste the difference). We'll get the perishables -- the brisket, the chicken, the soup greens -- a day or two before the holiday.
The holiday begins Monday night, but we're doing Passover with Drew's family Sunday night. His aunt and uncle can't make it during the week. She sings in her church choir, and they are rehearsing for Easter services.
Becca got some disappointing news. Her current roommate is moving out of the apartment when the lease expires in August. She thought she found a new roommate, the daughter of one of Drew's friends. But the other girl backed out, she's moving in with a friend instead. So Becca is still looking.
Jen and her boyfriend drove up to Connecticut last weekend. They went to the memorial service for Jen's friend's father. So sad...
I'll be visiting my friend L on Thursday. She's in a rehab facility, recovering from significant surgery. She sounds happy and upbeat as she's trying to get her life back together.
Exciting news at work. The scope of my responsibility is about to expand. Now if they'd only expand my paycheck ...
The weather is finally starting to warm up. That means more time to walk outdoors.
Yeah, spring is off to a very busy start.

Could you ask for a raise as they're asking you to do more?
ReplyDeleteThat's in the works, I hope.
