Blast from the past?
This is a phone book, an honest-to-goodness phone book, printed and distributed by Verizon, delivered just last week. I have to wonder if anyone even uses a phone book anymore, we all know how to Google. But I guess Verizon thinks there's a need for it.
Interestingly, the books were distributed throughout the neighborhood, not just to Verizon customers. Those who get telephone service from other providers, and those who rely exclusively on their cell phones, received phone books.
Long gone are the days when there was a single phone company, and the best way to get a phone number was to use the phone book. Remember what a big deal it was when you could actually choose your long distance carrier?
Believe it or not, I still see pay phones on the streets of NYC?
How long before they disappear?
