So every time Drew and I take a cruise, we make sure to spend time looking at the stars. Our stargazing usually takes place after dinner. And most of the time there's music playing in my head:
The Southern Cross (actually, visiting Australia and New Zealand) is on my bucket list. I have only been on one cruise in my life, and I got "hanging off the rail" seasick the night we dined at the Captain's Table. Oh well, now I know and I can prepare for that with a medication or some other way. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
I like to stargaze but I prefer to do that when we're in the mountains. Our city lights aren't too overpowering for us to catch glimpses of those starry wonders and I love it when we're out in the evenings or early mornings to see twinkling lights against the blackness. A sight that always makes me wonder. I love Grosby Stills and Nash - great mewsic!
Another “your choice” week. How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s? Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”. The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”. The surviving Beatles (with some help from AI) released “Now and Then”. And then Billy Joel … The AI effects in the video blew me away… A note about the AI effects … the Beatles used it to isolate John’s vocals on an old demo. Billy Joel had a young man play the piano then superimposed his own face onto the image of the younger man.
thanks to suzanne , I decided to join the party. I got into blogging last year because of Suzanne. I've known her on message boards for awhile, but I've gotten to know her much better since entering the blogosphere. I've also met several others whose blogs I am starting to love, and look forward to meeting even more bloggers now that I've joined the party. So I guess that means I have to introduce myself. I am a single mom from Long Island. My older daughter, Jen, is a college freshman, going to school in New England. Younger daughter, Becca, is a high school junior. I am also an attorney with an insurance company, with offices in Jersey City, NJ, a really "wonderful" commute. I sit on the board of trustees at my synagogue (which means I do a lot of volunteer work there!), and I am active in various fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, currently planning for this year's Relay for Life. I like ot take photos, so you'll see many of them in ...
Blame It on the Bossa Nova Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions! Saturday 9: Blame It on the Bossa Nova (1963) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here . Funny you should mention Eydie. She’s sort of a relative. My late mother-in-law always said that she and Eydie were cousins. Eydie was a Sephardic Jew, as was my mother-in-law, so I have no reason to doubt the connection, so I guess you can say my kids are related to Eydie, Eydie and Neil Sedaka were cousins, but I’m not sure if Neil was related to my moth...
One of my favorite songs...have a great weekend, friend. smiles
