Taco Perfectos redux

So it was Friday night and we wanted take out Mexican food. It was time to revisit Taco Perfectos.

No appetizer this time around. He had the a cheese quesadilla and the tortilla platter, I had the fajitas platter and an empanada filled with chili meat.

My platter came with steak, accompanied by sautéed vegetables-- onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms. Black beans were topped with a mild cheese. There were three small flour tortillas. Rice was flavorful -- and not dried out this time.

His platter was served with lettuce and fresh tomato salsa instead of the sautéed vegetables. Somehow he wound up with chicken instead of the steak he requested, but the chicken was very good.

The quesadilla was served with fresh salsa, sour cream and guacamole. The salsa has just enough of a kick to make it interesting. The guacamole was smooth and flavorful.

And this time around -- dessert.  Flan, to be exact.  It is served in little plastic containers, creamy custard with loads of caramel sauce on top.  I thought the sauce was a bit watery, but overall I enjoyed the dish.

The empanada was great served cold for breakfast the next morning.

Yes, definitely a keeper.
