Gah - every song was even better than the one before it! I could get used to this playlist for a whole day. Wasn't the video for "Take On Me" the best?
Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" was the theme song of the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox. I think it was after that series that the Astros started stealing sins...
Oh, man, I love all your selections this week, as that was what was popular during my teen years. I still love them all and will sing at the top of my lungs whenever I hear any of them, but I have to say I've come to love Sultan of Swing more and more as I've gotten older.
WOW, what a concert you presented! Your first song selection was a playlist of 26 other tunes. At first I didn't realize because I was busy doing other things. I love it when I can press play and have a stream of continuous tunes playing in the background. The 80s was an awesome era for mewsic. Thanks for putting the oogie woogie in my boogie today! Have a fantastic day, my friend!
Another “your choice” week. How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s? Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”. The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”. The surviving Beatles (with some help from AI) released “Now and Then”. And then Billy Joel … The AI effects in the video blew me away… A note about the AI effects … the Beatles used it to isolate John’s vocals on an old demo. Billy Joel had a young man play the piano then superimposed his own face onto the image of the younger man.
thanks to suzanne , I decided to join the party. I got into blogging last year because of Suzanne. I've known her on message boards for awhile, but I've gotten to know her much better since entering the blogosphere. I've also met several others whose blogs I am starting to love, and look forward to meeting even more bloggers now that I've joined the party. So I guess that means I have to introduce myself. I am a single mom from Long Island. My older daughter, Jen, is a college freshman, going to school in New England. Younger daughter, Becca, is a high school junior. I am also an attorney with an insurance company, with offices in Jersey City, NJ, a really "wonderful" commute. I sit on the board of trustees at my synagogue (which means I do a lot of volunteer work there!), and I am active in various fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, currently planning for this year's Relay for Life. I like ot take photos, so you'll see many of them in ...
Blame It on the Bossa Nova Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions! Saturday 9: Blame It on the Bossa Nova (1963) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here . Funny you should mention Eydie. She’s sort of a relative. My late mother-in-law always said that she and Eydie were cousins. Eydie was a Sephardic Jew, as was my mother-in-law, so I have no reason to doubt the connection, so I guess you can say my kids are related to Eydie, Eydie and Neil Sedaka were cousins, but I’m not sure if Neil was related to my moth...
The 80's had so much good music. Nice playlist. My favorite is a-ha, which was both a great song and a great video. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
