The toaster

My cousin and her husband are celebrating their 55th anniversary today.

And when I wished her a happy anniversary, she told me that she made toast in the famous toaster this morning,

The toaster is 55 years old.  It was a bridal shower gift from my mom and my aunt.

May they continue to enjoy that toaster for many years to come.

  1. An old fashioned toaster. Needless to say I remember my Mom's old toaster and how I wish I had it. They made them good in those days! Perhaps 25 years ago we were given a waffle iron my mother in law had for many, many years. Made waffles for my then young son for several years - loved it. Then it sat neglected. During the pandemic husband cleaned out our kitchen closets while I was working from home, and he found it. Wiring is shot. Going to see if my son, who is an adult now and quite handy, wants it. Yes, may your cousin celebrate many anniversaries to come with that toaster! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  2. Trying to think how many wedding gifts we still have after 58 years. I came up with: one small bowl, from a set of 4 nested bowls. (I'm hard on breakables.)

  3. 55 years ago, things were made to last. That goes for marriages, too. Happy anniversary to them.

  4. Wow, that's impressive. I'm surprised it hasn't died before now, but it's probably well taken care of.
