More ramblings
I was worried that my next door neighbor might have an issue with my bird feeder … until I looked into their yard and saw their bird feeders. And now they’ve added a new bird house, right near our shared fence, right near my bird feeder. There are lots of birds in both yards.
Drew makes jokes every time I tell him there are robins on our lawn.
I haven’t been able to do any gardening because of the rain. Maybe this afternoon?
Last week I made “Zoodles lo mein”, using zucchini instead of noodles. It was great! I thought I’d try to adapt the recipe by using riced vegetables, to make a pseudo fried rice dish. It was ok, but I’m going to have to make a few changes if I do it again.
But yeah, I’ve been trying to eat healthier. I guess it’s because I feel better at 65 than I did at 55.
Part of it is the Celiac diagnosis. Celiac is an autoimmune disease. Symptoms are caused by inflammation in the body. I stopped eating gluten and so many things improved.
But the 120 pound weight loss …Wegovy changed my life. I weigh less now than I did when I got married in 1987. I’m still about 30-40 pounds heavier than my ideal weight, but OMG …
Remember our road trip to Baltimore in the summer of 2021? We visited the home of Edgar Allan Poe. (Yes, strange, dark and mysterious stories …) After the tour we each bought a souvenir tee shirt.
Well, what I didn’t say back then …I bought a shirt that was a size too small. They didn’t have anything in my size. It was mortifying.
Well, I wore that shirt yesterday…and it was TOO BIG! I couldn’t believe it. A little body dysphoria … I’m still not used to this …
Oh, and on that road trip, we visited the Maryland Zoo. Yes, I love zoos, how did you guess? 🤭🤭🤣🤣
Yeah, I think your next door neighbor is okay with the birds. I bet you both could get into some interesting conversations about the birds you've both seen.
