This and that

Friday night.  Picked up burgers at Shake Shack (they have gluten free buns!), came home and watched the Mets demolish the Cubs.  I loved that clip from 1969, the “year of the cat” (iykyk).

Lindor changed his walk up music!  Or rather, added to it.  From now on, these two songs will alternate when he comes to bat:

I guess he likes MoTown.

They play the Cubs  again tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

Yesterday was the birthday of a certain Mr. William Martin Joel.

You know I am a fan.

Drew says rehearsal for Pinafore are going well. There are five shows planned for late June and early July.  I’m excited.

I guess it’s almost summer.  We will go to our first Ducks game Thursday. The Ducks are in (ugh) last place, but it’s still fun to go to the game.

And we have tickets to a Mets game on the 23rd…

  1. I hope the ducks win. But still enjoy the game.

  2. When John Oliver talked about minor league baseball last Sunday, I thought of your Ducks. (I know there are minor league teams near me, but I haven't bothered to figure out where.)

  3. Never did thank the Mets for '69. We White Sox fans, who were having a really bad year (as usual), had had enough of the Cub fans, who had been getting really obnoxious all summer. That shut 'em up. Of course, I don't think the Mets would have won it without Tommie Agee, Al Weis, and JC Martin, who the Sox gave them (in two different trades) in exchange for Ken Boyer, Tommy Davis, and Fat Jack Fisher...
