Ramblings

Look who is on my lawn!

Two robins, twice the luck.

(Ignore the mess that serves as a lawn…)

Back in February, Drew gave me a balloon for my birthday.  That balloon is still alive in May!

I’m really liking Zoodles.  This week I made a sauce — a can of crushed tomatoes, onion, garlic, yellow pepper, mushrooms — and served it over Zoodles, topped with some grated Parmesan.

There’s a minor glitch involving our Memorial Day bar.  At least, I hope it’s a minor glitch.  Drew bought a new gas grill, and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday.  But there’s a problem, it’s delayed, and now scheduled to be delivered May 22, three days before our barbecue…we’ve already invited our friends, so if the grill isn’t delivered … I need a backup plan, what to feed everyone if we can’t grill the usual burgers and hot dogs.

The latest baseball news —- Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson are no longer on the “ineligible” list.  Their sins have been forgiven. Will Rose make the Hall of Fame now?

Can you believe it’s been ten years since our trip to Cooperstown?  I still have the tee shirt I bought, listing everyone from the NY Mets who has been inducted into the Hall. I wear it every time we see a game at Citi Field.  We’ve got tickets for May 23 versus the Dodgers.

But first, this week, we have tickets to see the Ducks play the Ghost Peppers (yes, that’s really a team name).

Let’s Go Ducks!

Got a nocturnal visitor…

  1. Fingers crossed for your new grill. Is there something you can do in the oven just in case? Definitely have a back up plan. Things have been a bit screwy lately with shipments and deliveries.
