 High wind and heavy rain doesn’t deter my ginger friend from visiting our yard.


I decorated our mantle for the holidays.



I haven’t done the outdoors yet.

Remember what I did last year?




I kept the decorations, so they’ll be going on our lawn soon.

On Tuesday I posted about visiting houses in Wantagh to see the decorations.  Later, on the 11 o’clock  news, the owner of the house in Wantagh was talking about how he had to secure his decorations because of the impending storm.  And then he mentioned that singer Gloria Gaynor visited his house.

Light displays in my neighborhood tend to be more mundane. Pretty, but not elaborate.

I just found out that Bare Naked Bakery sells gluten free potato latkes. I can get gluten free potato latke mix, but if I’m not in the mood to fry, it’s good to know I can buy ready to eat latkes.

They have all kinds of holiday treats.  I’ll have to keep that in mind.

Especially if we wind up hosting New Year’s Eve.

    Shadow looks so innocent...

    I just found out my niece also has to be gluten-free, so I might be paying more attention to some of the things you've tried.

thanks to suzanne , I decided to join the party. I got into blogging last year because of Suzanne. I've known her on message boards for awhile, but I've gotten to know her much better since entering the blogosphere. I've also met several others whose blogs I am starting to love, and look forward to meeting even more bloggers now that I've joined the party. So I guess that means I have to introduce myself. I am a single mom from Long Island. My older daughter, Jen, is a college freshman, going to school in New England. Younger daughter, Becca, is a high school junior. I am also an attorney with an insurance company, with offices in Jersey City, NJ, a really "wonderful" commute. I sit on the board of trustees at my synagogue (which means I do a lot of volunteer work there!), and I am active in various fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, currently planning for this year's Relay for Life.
