More this and that
They just love to visit, don’t they?
And Shadow often watches them from the front window. I wonder if she ever thinks about joining the outdoor cats. Duchess has no interest in being outdoors. The one time she accidentally wandered outside she panicked, and was very happy when I rescued her and brought her back into the house.
Shadow also loves to watch the birds. I see a lot of doves, a few robins, and there’s a cardinal that hangs out in my front yard. They say that a visit by a cardinal or a robin is considered lucky.
Drew had eggs for breakfast yesterday, and one of them was a double yolk. It came from the same carton as the double yolk egg Shadow broke. I guess we must really be lucky.
I saw a drone last night. We were watching tv and I happened to look out the living room window just as it flew by, I’m used to seeing planes, of course. We live under a flight path. But this was different. Lower in the sky, very bright light, moved very differently than a plane. Folks on the Ring app say there were multiple drones in the area last night.
I haven’t had a chance to walk in the neighborhood recently and I haven’t been able to do our outdoor decorations. The weather has been cold and rainy. At least the drought is over. And I’d rather deal with rain than snow …
We’ve got a snow blower for when we get measurable snow. I’m hoping we don’t have to use it …
I’m becoming a bit obsessed with a YouTube/podcast personality, Mr. Ballen. I think I’ve mentioned him before. He tells stories. The stories are described as “strange, dark and mysterious”. Lots of true crime, unexplained phenomena, weird coincidences. One day you’ll hear about a gruesome murder, the next you might hear about a ghost sighting, and the day after that he might talk about a guy who fell into an active volcano crater. Scary stuff. But he’s very entertaining.
So we’ve got a reservation at The Melting Pot for Christmas Eve, and at a Chinese restaurant for Christmas Day. Still haven’t finalized plans for New Year’s, but I’ve got ideas … can’t believe we’re in the middle of December already…
Time sure does fly. We used to do a board game night on New Year's Eve. Order in pizza. Have dessert, too. I hope you find something fun to do for New Year's.
