 Back in 2003 I spent a lively evening in the theater, saw a wonderful new show starring Idina Menzel.  Her costar was absent that night, we saw an understudy.  But here they are …

    You are probably aware that L. Frank Baum was born in Chittenango, New York (about 15 miles east of Syracuse) and that his mother in law, Mathilda Joslyn Gage, was a suffragette and an abolitionist. I've never been to the Oz museum in Chittenango (although I've been through the village) or the Gage House, and now I'm going to be sorry. The Oz-Stravaganza that Chittenango holds each year to honor all things Oz is going to be something to see next year, I have a feeling.

Another “your choice” week. How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s? Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”. The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”. The surviving Beatles (with some  help from AI) released “Now and Then”. Ultimate Blog Party!!!!

thanks to suzanne , I decided to join the party. I got into blogging last year because of Suzanne. I've known her on message boards for awhile, but I've gotten to know her much better since entering the blogosphere. I've also met several others whose blogs I am starting to love, and look forward to meeting even more bloggers now that I've joined the party. So I guess that means I have to introduce myself. I am a single mom from Long Island. My older daughter, Jen, is a college freshman, going to school in New England. Younger daughter, Becca, is a high school junior. I am also an attorney with an insurance company, with offices in Jersey City, NJ, a really "wonderful" commute. I sit on the board of trustees at my synagogue (which means I do a lot of volunteer work there!), and I am active in various fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, currently planning for this year's Relay for Life. We love to  answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions! Saturday 9: Blame It on the Bossa Nova (1963) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it  here . Funny you should mention Eydie.  She’s sort of a relative.  My late mother-in-law always said that she and Eydie were cousins.  Eydie was a Sephardic Jew, as was my mother-in-law, so I have no reason to doubt the connection,  so I guess you can say my kids are related to Eydie,   Eydie and Neil Sedaka were cousins, but I’m not sure if Neil was related to my mother-in-law.
