Music Monday -- Songbird Salutes the Seventies

 Today's theme:

As it’s Roctober – Choose a decade and build a playlist of rock songs from that period.

How about I narrow it down to 1975?  Let's dance.

The "Soul Train" dancers dancing to "Get Dancin'" by Disco-Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes (can you believe the name of that group?)

And the best dance tune of the year?

  1. Robin,

The 70s rocked! "The Hustle" and "Dance With Me" are great songs that I loved! Thanks for taking me back to a fun time. :) Thanks for joining the 4M gang on the dance floor. Have a boogietastic day, darlin'!

  3. Funny how your playlist for 1975 is so much different from what mine would be! That's the year I graduated from high school, and I listened to what would have been "easy listening" or "soft rock," I guess. Jackson Browne, Eagles, America...

    1. Love them all. I’ve done playlists featuring those performers. Actually got to see Jackson Browne about six years ago, on a double bill with John Fogerty.

  7. These are all songs I like, but didn't pick for my 70's playlist. Maybe it's because I haven't heard any of them for a while. I'm feeling 70's love today, partially thanks to you. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  9. The only one I thought I didn't know was "Get Dancin'," and I remembered it when I heard it. "Soul Train" started in Chicago as a dance party on our first UHF station, and it got picked up for syndication, which is when Don Cornelius moved to LA. One of the first blog posts I wrote was an obituary for him. Terrible how he died...

  10. Oh man, those are all so good! Everyone thinks all I listen to is rock and metal but those songs are definitely my type too.
