Saturday 9
Photograph
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Photograph (1973)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
2) While there are approximately 180 published songs credited to Lennon-McCartney, this is the only song written by Harrison-Starr. When you think of Ringo's old band, the Beatles, what's the first song that comes to mind?

1) In this song, Ringo stumbles upon a photograph that reminds him of a lost love. Are there any photos displayed in the room you're in right now?
Of course! There are photos of my daughters and photos of Drew and me.
Too many! There was always a Beatles song on the radio when I was growing up.
I’ll play just one …
Or maybe two
Ok, just one more …
Ok, ok, I’ll stop …
3) George and Ringo wrote this song while on a yacht in the South of France. They, and their wives, had just attended Mick Jagger's wedding to Bianca in Saint Tropez and decided to take a little holiday together. What are your vacation plans for 2025?
We are thinking of visiting friends who live in Florida in May. And a possible road trip to Colonial Williamsburg in the fall.
4) At 5'8, Ringo was the shortest Beatle and the only one with blue eyes. How tall are you? What's your eye color?
I’m 5 feet tall and suffer from short girl syndrome …
As for eye color …
5) Ringo gave his first wife, Maureen, a one-of-a-kind birthday gift. Frank Sinatra recorded "The Lady Is a Tramp" with special lyrics, written just for her. Do you have anything that's personalized? (It could be a monogram on a scarf, it doesn't have to be as cool as a gift from Frank Sinatra.)
There’s a sign in my home office that says “Robin’s Nest”. (My name is Robin.)
6) Ringo appeared as Mr. Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine. He recorded the narration for the entire first season in just a week. Tell us what you did last week.

I spent a lot of time in my home office. My job involves working on my laptop as well as phone calls and Zoom meetings. I spent one day at our company’s office just for a change of scenery.
I went to a concert last Saturday. Burton Cummings, who was the lead singer for a 1960’s. BAnd called The Guess Who. On Monday we went out to dinner to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day; the restaurant featured a special Irish menu and there was entertainment — a guy playing bagpipes and some young ladies performing Irish step dancing.
I took a lot of walks in my neighborhood to enjoy the spring weather.
And I started to plan for Passover. We will be hosting both Seders this year. My sister will do most of the cooking for the first Seder, including chicken soup with matzoh balls, gefilte fish, brisket, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes … second Seder we will probably make a turkey. And I’ve got some great dessert recipes. There’s a cake recipe that uses almond flour and lemons …
7) As a boy in Liverpool, Ringo loved watching American westerns. Do you like cowboy movies/shows?
Yes. I used to love Bonanza.
8) In 1973, when this song was a hit, former President Lyndon Johnson died. Who was President when you were a kid?
I was born during the Eisenhower administration. The first President I remember was LBJ, followed by Nixon.
9) Random question: When you woke up this morning, did you know the day and date (before looking at your phone)?
Yes.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
I bet Colonial Williamsburg will be absolutely beautiful in the fall when the leaves change color.

ReplyDeleteenjoyed your answers
I liked westerns because of the horses! Bonanza. The Big Valley. Laredo. By Laredo I was also noticing the men!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a busy week! I would one day like to try working from home. I suppose it will depend on what retiring from teaching looks like. (Teaching online is NOT for me, that I already know.)
ReplyDeleteYum! Your Seder menu is making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Williamsburg in a while. It's a great trip, and fall is a wonderful time to go. We went in August one year and nearly died from the heat, so I don't recommend that!
ReplyDeleteYou don't remember Kennedy?
ReplyDeleteYour vacation plans sound lovely.
