More this and that
Happy first day of spring!
Though you wouldn’t know it by the weather. Chilly out there today.
It was much nicer yesterday. I had to take a walk.
Though apparently one of my neighbors still thinks it’s fall.
Though I have to admit I’m curious how those pumpkins survived the winter …maybe they’re plastic?
Lots of flowers blooming around the neighborhood, mostly crocuses and daffodils. I’m disappointed that we don’t have any in our yard. Guess I’ll have to plant some bulbs in the fall. I think I found a good spot for them in the front yard … not much room for flowers in the back yard. I may get some planters for the patio…
The lawn still looks brown. Hopefully that will change in a few weeks.
Another sign of spring: there’s an ice cream truck making the rounds through the neighborhood.
Drew has an extra rehearsal for Pinafore tonight. The chorus usually rehearses on Tuesday and the principals on Thursday, but the director asked the men in the chorus to show up tonight. He’s really enjoying being in the show. The director gave him a comic bit to do at the end of Act I. He will have his “moment”.
So I’ll be cooking or baking something tonight. I’ve got gluten free pizza dough from Trader Joe’s and a recipe that shows you how to turn it into garlic knots …
I really enjoyed the turkey cutlets I made Tuesday night, I froze the leftovers. I’m going to make them again. And I discovered that gluten free pasta made from cassava flour is really good. I didn’t use a sauce, just added some garlic butter.
Started really planning for Passover … bought some gluten free cookies, found my recipe for Sephardic charoset …Yeah, I’m really getting domesticated.
You're making all sorts of things. But you kind of have to now, don't you? Not all the choices when you're gluten free.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of gluten free food available, but yeah, I had to learn to prepare things for myself.
