#Skywatchfriday -- Times Square

There's always something interesting in Times Square.  This sculpture currently takes up a good deal of space.

But the best is seeing One Times Square, with the ball from New Year's Eve.  They leave it in place all year long.

  1. Does the New Year's Ball sit in one spot, or does is slowly rise? I've always wondered.

  2. On New Year's Eve it slides down a pole. then they leave it where it landed until the following year. That's relatively new, they used to remove it on New Year's Day.

  3. I didn't know they kept the ball in place every year, but then again, I haven't been to Times Square since 2002. Yikes. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  5. I have to wonder how busy it during this time of year around midnight.

  6. It’s always busy around midnight. The theaters let out around 11 and people head to restaurants and bars after the shows
