Saturday 9
Something New
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9
questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

Welcome to the first Saturday 9 of 2025.
1) We're beginning the year with a song about new beginnings. What is something new you'd like to try in 2025?
Hmmm… can’t think of anything large…maybe some new recipes in my kitchen?
2) The lyrics recall what was said "in the mist of the midnight hour." Where were you when the new year dawned?
We had a small get-together with friends. We watched the ball drop in Times Square. Ordered way too much food and sent everyone home with a ton of leftovers.
3) The Axwell of Axwell and Ingrosso is Axel Hedfors. He began as a drummer and moved on to experimenting musically on the computer, eventually mastering music sequencer software. Do you consider yourself more a technophile like Axwell, who loves technology and digital devices, or more a technophobe, anxious about learning new programs?
I like my gadgets.
4) His musical partner is Sebastian Ingrosso. Sebastian became interested in dance music when he accompanied his father, a choreographer, to the studio. When you were young, did you ever go to work with either of your parents?
I’m told that when I was very young (before kindergarten) my mother did some substitute teaching and brought my sister and me to school. I don’t remember that. For most of my childhood she was a stay at home mom. She started subbing again when I was in high school, and she once subbed for my social studies teacher …
My dad was an assistant principal. He never brought me to his school.
5) Axwell & Ingrosso gave their premiere performance at the 2014 Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City and their last concert at the 2017 Ultra Music Fest in Miami. Looking back on 2024, did you attend any outdoor music or theater performances?
We used to like to go to concerts at Jones Beach, we saw Jimmy Buffett, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks … but no concerts at the beach last summer. In December we saw concerts at Westbury Music Fair by Peter Noone and Micky Dolenz.
6) In 2017, when "Something New" was released, we lost the TV star who could "turn the world on with her smile." Without looking it up, do you know who that is?
Mary Tyler Moore, of course.
7) Also in 2017, Today Show anchor Hoda Kotb announced she had adopted her first child. Do you know anyone who is adding to their family in 2025?
No.
8) Have you made any New Year's resolutions for 2025?
No
9) What was the first thing to make you laugh in 2025?
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
#4 My mother took care of the house and my father worked all day. When he came home my mother had his bourbon Manhattan read for him.
ReplyDelete#5 I was never really into concerts, I went to a few but I get bored quicky.
Oh your kitty! How cute. I bet she is so entertaining. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

My dad was active in local theater so he would always have my sisters and me in his plays--children in the crowd/chorus thing.

DeleteWe don't have many opportunities for activities here in my rural part of the world. There are some, but I seem to be a stay-at-home sort of woman.
ReplyDeleteWhen my dad worked in fast food, my class did a field trip to his restaurant. I have only vague memories of this.
