Music Monday

 This week's theme:

In honor of the debut of the Sony Betamax recorder (1975), songs from movies from the 1980’s and 1990’s

Love, love, love this theme!

But I got lost in the 70's, when Betamax first showed up

Remember The Poseidon Adventure?  Mrs. Rosen was my favorite character.

Rocky was everywhere, and so was the theme song.

It was Liza's song before it was Frank's.

The humor in Animal House was crude, but the music....

The theme from The Godfather was a huge hit for Andy Williams.

So was the theme from Romeo and Juliet

Cabaret was a huge hit.  Here's Liza singing the title song

Can't do this without Barbra, can we?

Let's lighten it up and have some fun with Grease.

And the most iconic 70's music came from Saturday Night Fever

Just love watching Travolta strut.  But also

And that white suit....

I could watch Travolta dance all day long....

  2. Robin,

Andy Williams had such a golden voice. The Godfather movies are some of the best mobster films. Grease is a lot of fun and the music is great. I remember being quite impressed with John Travolta's talent. He does alright singing. ONJ is such a beauty with a voice to match her looks. The Bee Gees really soared in the 70s with their songs in Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive. What a great set of music! Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, darlin'. Have a boogietastic week!!

  3. Very nice set, especially Barbra and "The Way We Were". Brought tears to my eyes. And oh, John Travolta! (and now I want to listen to the Grease theme song, sung by Frankie Valli. Another memory!) Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
