Feline Friday — The catnip fiend
catnip
a plant, Nepeta cataria, of the mint family, having egg-shaped leaves containing aromatic oils that are a cat attractant.
Some cats absolutely love catnip, some are indifferent.
Shadow is a catnip fiend. Once, about six months ago, I found a great cat toy in the supermarket. It was three small mice, each filled with catnip. Very simple packaging, the mice were attached to a piece of cardboard. Sort of like this, but a different brand than pictured below:
When I got home the toy was in the bottom of my shopping bag. Guess who found the toy and pulled it out of the bag? She didn’t even wait for me to cut the mice off the cardboard.
But what happened Monday night…
Drew bought catnip for Duchess, but she is indifferent to it. He had a large bag of catnip on his computer desk. Guess who found it?
It was loose catnip, wrapped in plastic. We have no idea how she managed it, but …There was catnip all over the living room couch, and the floor. And there was Shadow, in the recliner, covered in catnip and looking oh so smug …
I’m glad we have a decent vacuum cleaner.
When the 'nip is on the line, cats will do literally anything to get to it...
ReplyDeleteWe got some growing.
