 We're fairly frequent visitors to the Willow Wood Shoppes.   And when we found out that Stewart's planned to open a restaurant there, we were very excited.  We are fans of their root beer and black cherry soda, and we had heard good things about their other locations.

So of course we had dinner there shortly after the place opened.

The decor is very very orange, and suggestive of Stewart's carhop roots.  I was amused to see that the top shelf behind the bar was not occupied by beer or wine (though both are available), but rather, by bottles of Stewart's sodas.

The night we were there, we encountered numerous service issues.  Everyone was friendly and trying really hard, but they missed the mark.  I attribute that to the newness of the restaurant, I'm sure they'll work out the kinks as they get more experience.

The food?  Fries were pretty standard.  My patty melt -- hamburger patty, rye bread, grilled onions, cheese -- was juicy and tasty.  And the diet root beer, served in a frosted mug, was as good as I expected.

The ice cream menu was intriguing, but we were too full for dessert.  Next time we may just stop by for a root beer float.

    So you'll give it another try? That's good. Sounds like the staff was trying, at least. Some will have a bad time and never return.

found a new blog today. Love it. http://secret-squirrel.webs.com/index.htm I've posted there under various names over the last 10 years or so. it went from a sweet little board that was Pete Werner's hobby to ....well, a real nightmare. that a board devoted to all things Disney can be such a nasty, racist, childish (not childlike) place.... loving the inside scoop, though. Even booked my trips through Dreams Unlimited, back when Pete was careful to distinguish between the disboards as a hobby and Dreams as his business. Another “your choice” week. How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s? Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”. The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”. The surviving Beatles (with some  help from AI) released “Now and Then”. And then Billy Joel …    The AI effects in the video blew me away… A note about the AI effects … the Beatles used it to isolate John’s vocals on an old demo.  Billy Joel had a young man play the piano then superimposed his own face onto the image of the younger man.
