Fitbit

 I got my first Fitbit activity tracker in 2015, and while I have experimented with other brands, I always come back to Fitbit.

I  currently wear a Fitbit Sense 2, but I still have my original Versa and my Luxe.   I’m thinking I might upgrade to the Google Pixel smartwatch (Google bought Fitbit a couple of years ago), but maybe I’ll wait…

…because rumor has it that a Fitbit is developing a smart ring; smart rings are the latest trend.  The leader in ring technology is Oura, but Samsung is about to release a ring.  And according to Forbes, the Samsung ring and watch will work together, so you can wear both devices and get better data.  I’d like to see Fitbit do that ,,,


I am amazed at myself, being so enthused about fitness trackers.

    Smart rings are a good idea but they wouldn't work for me. Due to a medical condition my hands (especially my right hand) swells in the winter and I'd have to get rings in two different sizes. I'll stick with my Apple Watch for now. I don't use most of its features and there are some privacy concerns, but it is convenient and feeds data to my Weight Watchers app.

    I'd be curious to know how many steps I take in a day when I'm working, but otherwise I don't understand the fuss. But they do some great things, I hear. Definitely wait for the new models, especially if what you have right now is working just fine.

found a new blog today. Love it. http://secret-squirrel.webs.com/index.htm I've posted there under various names over the last 10 years or so. it went from a sweet little board that was Pete Werner's hobby to ....well, a real nightmare. that a board devoted to all things Disney can be such a nasty, racist, childish (not childlike) place.... loving the inside scoop, though. Did I ever tell you how "songbird" was banned from the DIS? I was a poster in good standing for 3-4 years. Even booked my trips through Dreams Unlimited, back when Pete was careful to distinguish between the disboards as a hobby and Dreams as his business. Pete and Webmaster Alex were struggling with server issues, the disboards would go down more often than they'd stay up. then Pete announced cosmetic changes to wdwinfo.com, which feeds into the disbaords forum. Another “your choice” week. How about new music from icons of the 60’s and 70’s? Let’s start with Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous hit, “Bubbles Up”. The Rolling Stones released a new song in 2023, it’s called “Angry”. The surviving Beatles (with some  help from AI) released “Now and Then”. And then Billy Joel …    The AI effects in the video blew me away… A note about the AI effects … the Beatles used it to isolate John’s vocals on an old demo.  Billy Joel had a young man play the piano then superimposed his own face onto the image of the younger man.
