History lesson

So in 2008 Billy Joel commemorated the closing of Shea Stadium with a two night concert.  And when he played a certain song, he didn’t have to sing a note — the crowd sang it for him.  It was a song that had been sung at Shea countless times.

Well, since 1908.  

Back then, baseball was considered a man’s sport, until Katie Casey came along.

Katie Casey was base ball mad,

Had the fever and had it bad;

Just to root for the home town crew,

Called to see if she’d like to go,

To see a show But Miss Kate said “no,
