Music Monday— Cheap Trick

So, a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I was going to see Rod Stewart in August.

That was before coronavirus, of course.  So many things put on hold ... Though I’m hoping we will be back to normal by summertime.

So far Rod hasn’t canceled.  But who knows?

Assuming there’s a tour, guess who is touring with Rod Stewart?

Yeah, it’s a double bill.

Here are my favorites from Cheap Trick.

And their best --

  1. Very nice songs. "The Flame" by Cheap Trick was on my list for great forgotten 80's songs.

  2. Robin,

A lot can happen between now and August. Let's hope life gets back to normal by that time. I think regardless of when states begin to roll open businesses that we need to use common sense and if people are afraid about catching or spreading the virus then wear masks/gloves, minimize social contact, keep the 6-foot distance whenever possible, frequent hand washings, and keeping track of one's temp. There's so many things we can do keep this thing at bay but everyone needs to be responsible. There are those that won't be and aren't even while in lock down or stay at home mode. I'm not sure what terminology is being used where but you get the idea. I hope things are going well with you and yours. I know you mentioned the virus has touched many that you know. Keeping those prayers going. Great mewsic to get ya in the mood for a new week. Have a boogietastic day, my friend!! xx

  5. Cheap Trick is an interesting band: half are rock & rollers, the other half are crazy, but they make great music, and Rick Nielsen is a fantastic guitarist and quite a collector. I guess his son is drumming for them now, at least on the road. Bun E. Carlos was unique... Good choices!

  6. I haven't seen as many bands in concert as you have, Songbird, but I did see Cheap Trick at Binghamton's Spiediefest a forever age ago, and they ROCKED. Actually (I just looked it up) it was 2013. My personal favorite of their songs is Dream Police. Maybe I'm in the minority but I think it's the best of many really good songs.
