Smile

So last night there was a local telethon for the benefit of New Jersey ... a show that opened with the Boss, included Jon Stewart, Danny DeVito, Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg ..and ended with Bon Jovi singing an acoustic version of “Living on a Prayer”...

But what made me cry ...

Tony Bennett.

Yes, that Tony Bennett.  Age 93 and still able to sing.

And what did he sing?

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear maybe ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile- what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile
Oh that's the time you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile

Tears were flowing ...

I’ll try to find his performance on YouTube.  The whole show is supposed to be live-streamed again today.

For now....
