We are heading to Florida later this week to visit old friends.  I’m excited for the trip.  Worried about the cats, but we have an incredible cat sitter.  And I’m not just saying it because I’m her mother.

Snow?

No, petals.  Here are some green ones.

My azaleas are blooming.

Trying figure out what these are, I have them in my front and back yards.

I’m not much of a gardener, but I have to do something about our lawn, it looks absolutely terrible.  Lots of brown patches where the grass died in last year’s drought.  I bought a product — it’s grass seed, mulch and fertilizer — meant to address this issue. But you have to water the lawn every day for a week after you put the seeds down, so it’s going to have to wait until we come back from Florida.

Ours isn’t the only lawn in the neighborhood that has issues.  Seen around the neighborhood.

Weeds or wildflowers, you decide.

This squirrel posed for me.

And there are birds.  Lots of birds,  Today I saw pigeons, doves and robins.

I especially liked the brown pigeon.  The coloring is so different.

But robins are still my favorite, of course.

There was a crow at my bird feeder.  Sorry, no photo.  If this hobby lasts I will have to invest in a bird feeder with a camera.

Lazy Sunday, we’re watching the Mets demolish the Washington Nationals …

Edit: they blew a 6 run lead and lost the game in the 9th inning …
