Ramblings
No white Christmas for us, I’m afraid. It rained yesterday, but today is sunny and that’s what is predicted for tomorrow as well. We may get some snow this weekend, but it’s likely to change over to rain, no accumulation.
Tonight we will be with a group of our friends, headed out to The Melting Pot for fondue and conversation.
Tomorrow morning we are going to the movies. We thought about getting tickets for that new Hugh Jackman movie, Song Sung Blue. But when we found out there’s a special showing of It’s A Wonderful Life … Hugh Jackman can wait. We’ve both seen the Jimmy Stewart classic on TV more times than I can count. But there’s something about seeing a movie on the big screen …
Justice Kagan pretty much described our plans for tomorrow night. Our favorite Chinese restaurant does a lot of gluten free dishes. Most Chinese food is full of soy sauce, and most soy sauce is made by brewing soy beans and wheat (gluten!), but this place uses gluten-free soy sauce.
Becca and Brendon are celebrating Christmas with his parents. Jen is enjoying the festivities with her boyfriend’s family. I love seeing my daughters happy with their partners.
Quiet weekend ahead. I’m getting my house in order, literally and figuratively. I start a new job on the 29th (yeah, right before New Year’s), so I’m taking a few days to get myself organized.
Yes, I’m a bit nervous about the new job, but I think I’ve found a good place to work.
So there will be much to celebrate this New Year’s Eve.
Which will be celebrated in our living room, a game night with a group of friends.
A new year and new beginnings. And the promise of good things to come …
