Wedding dress
No, not Becca’s. Mine.
I was definitely an 80’s bride.
That’s an Alfred Angelo. Those aren’t long sleeves, they’re gauntlets that could be removed for the reception. The train bustled up. That’s a Juliet cap with my veil.
I never took steps to preserve the dress. It’s in a garment bag, in a cardboard box, in my parents’ garage. I can’t imagine what condition it must be in after all these years.
The dress I was married in (70's) is long gone. I do have my mother in law's wedding gown from 1950. It was in her closet in a box all those years until we moved her up here in 2015 due to her declining health. No one wanted it. I'm almost afraid to look at it. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteMy mother borrowed her wedding dress, so she never kept it. I have never been married. It's one thing if you want to pass it down in the family, but with the way styles change, it's probably best to let it go. Unless you really want it around. Then I'm sure it can be restored.
ReplyDeleteBecca would never wear my dress, even if it fit her.
