I swear I didn't mean to do it, but. . .
So Thursday night Jen came home drop-dead tired. They've extended her hours at the nursery school, and left her in charge of a classroom for 3 days when the teacher she assists became ill. She's also been coaching her cheerleaders, preparing for their next competition. And the girls cheered at a basketball game Thursday night. Jen came home around 9 and was in bed by 10.
Ditto for me. Long week at work, couldn't keep my eyes open, in bed by 10 and fast asleep by 10:15.
Not so Becca. She's still on Christmas break. Classes start Monday. She spent Thursday evening at her boyfriend's house, just hanging out.
She came home around midnight, maybe a little later. I must have woken up when she got home because I heard her come into the house and say something to my night owl sister. But I rolled over and went back to sleep . . .for about 15 minutes, when she came into my room to ask me for money. I told her I'd deal with it in the morning . . .
Then she went to the bedroom she shares with Jen. Next thing I knew, Jen was cursing a blue streak about how inconsiderate Becca was . . .
. . .I had a moment where I thought "Maybe I should wake Becca up tomorrow morning," but I dismissed the thought . . .
So Friday morning I went about my usual "get ready for work" routine. And when I heard Jen get up and head for the bathroom . . .I remembered that Becca asked me for some cash. So I pulled a little bit of money out of my wallet to put on her night table before I left for the day. I swear I was being quiet . . . I really didn't intend to wake her up . . .
