Music Monday

Today I will salute New York City at Christmas.

Let's start with the light show at Saks:

Gee,  I wonder why they chose the theme ....

This next song describes the city at  Christmas.  She sang it during the Macy's parade this year.  Way cool, since the lyrics actually mention Macy's.

I thought about including something from The Pogues, but decided to stick with songs that are light and pretty.

You can’t have a NYC Christmas without the Rockettes.

And we close it out with Rob Thomas (of course).  He wrote this song at a time when NYC really needed it....

  1. Oh my gosh, look at the soldiers all in a role. I wish I could go there to see such a wonderful show. I never heard your last one. So cool! Joe Christmas in New York is a new one for me and so cool! Thanks for sharing that one. The Christmas tune... Christmas in New York by Lea Michele & the Saks Fifth Ave. is also a new one for me. I've never been to New York this is so cool, like being there. What a great Parade... it's kinda like being there. Cute... thanks for sharing! Truly an awesome show/parade! You had to be there, right? So cool!

  2. Having grown up in New York City in the 1950's and 1960's, the Rockettes are such a fond memory. My Dad used to take me down to Radio City from our home in the Bronx. We would wait on a line forever (no advance tickets that I am aware of). Ironically, when I was in New York City (Brooklyn) last Dec 23-26, the last thing I wanted was Christmas in my life, and we avoided Manhattan too. I am saving this one for later. 4. Robin,

If I ever visit NYC then I definitely want to go to Radio Music City to see the Rockettes! We watched a RMC Christmas special on PBS on year and that was fabulous. The girls did the toy solider routine. I'm not sure if it's exactly like the one in your vid but the costumes were. :) Christmas in NYC has got to be pretty magical! Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, dearie. Have a wonderful Christmas season!! xx

  8. I would encourage to people at Saks to put their phones down and enjoy the show. I have forfeited the pleasure of many an event because I chose to stay behind the camera and capture it for a future that never materialized. Great videos here.
