Jones Beach Holiday Lights
So on Saturday we went to see Magic Of Lights at Jones Beach.
Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lights experience featuring favorite holiday scenes and characters of the season using the latest LED technology and digital animations. Experience Magic of Lights from the comfort of your own car as you wind through the sparkling path of Long Island’s favorite holiday tradition. One carload, one price.
And at the end of the tour you’ll find a bathhouse converted to a Christmas village, with decorations, refreshments, a game room, and if you go before Christmas you can even visit Santa.
We always try to get to the beach before sunset, so we’re usually among the first on line for the show.
Yes, that’s a Jewish star tucked between the Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower.
Rapunzel, let down your hair!
And it’s not a tale worth telling if there aren’t any dragons in it.

There are different zones along the route, each with its own theme — toys, Santa, the beach...And light tunnels between each area.
Candy canes, fairytales, foreign landmarks...it’s all on light.

There’s even a menorah.
And yes, that is the Statue of Liberty.
At the Village you’ll find some interesting displays.
There are three “ trees”, all made from lights, that change color and coordinate with the piped-in music.
You can even make s’mores at the fire pit. We didn’t — we had a dinner reservation at Our favorite Mexican place immediately after our beach trip.
Drew indulged his inner 12-year-old in the game room, since they had old fashioned pinball machines.
Yes, another fun evening ...
Cool! I love Christmas/holiday lights. Ha, I love pinball, smiles.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'm scratching my head over the Star of David between the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower (OK, there has to be some connection that I'm missing) at least the menorah was near the Statue of Liberty. We used to have a local light display like that (although much smaller) but it's been gone many years now. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great display.
