Mint
Mint does not look like a typical Indian restaurant. Instead, the decor is sleek, minimalist, modern.
We visited on a Sunday night in January. We were seated upstairs -- adjacent to the (closed) rooftop bar -- because of a private party in the main dining area, but service was nevertheless attentive and accommodating.
The menu contains Chinese and Thai as well as Indian dishes. the menu notes which dishes are considered "spicy", which are vegetarian, gluten free, etc. We opted for Indian dishes -- Drums of Heaven (a chicken drumstick appetizer that had a slightly spicy brown sauce), lamb pasanda (cooked in a mild cashew sauce), shrimp tikka masala (cooked in a fenugreek flavored tomato sauce) and garlic naan. The dishes were served "family style"; it was more than enough food for the two of us. The dishes were flavorful but not overly spicy, the sauces very rich and satisfying.
We also ordered Thai fried rice -- it was made with basmati rice and basil, much lighter than Chinese fried rice.
One very nice touch: a carafe of water is left on the table, so that you can refill your water glass as needed. considering even the non spicy foods have a slight "kick' to them, the water was most welcome.
And they make a killer Godiva chocolate martini.
One small complaint. It was a very cold night, and we were grateful for the valet parking. But when we finished the meal and left the restaurant, we could not find the valet. The restaurant hostess had to find him for us so that we could retrieve our car.
Other than that, however, it was a lovely evening, and we will most certainly return.
I rarely eat out, but I think this is the kind of restaurant I would enjoy. the lamb pasanda sounds delicious, along with garlic naan. The "killer Godiva chocolate martini" somehow doesn't seem to fit the cuisine but maybe I would make an exception. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

What you call a "kick", I call a burning mouth. (I have such a low threshold for spice.) Probably not the sort of place I should frequent.
