Ramblings

Feeling stressed out right now.  New job, new routine, lots to learn.  But I’ll be ok, it will just take time.

New office is ok.  I go to the office every Tuesday and Thursday.  It’s a 25 minute drive, not terrible.  It’s a quiet office, I can get a lot done.

Thank goodness I bought the treadmill, it makes finding time to exercise so much easier.

Though I haven’t abandoned the idea of going back to Planet Fitness soon.

My goal for the Christmas season was to maintain my weight, to not gain the 5-10 pounds “everyone” gains over the holidays. I succeeded, my weight is actually down a little from where it was in November.

I am so looking forward to our cruise in October.  We’re also talking about a quick trip to Florida to visit old friends.  We were supposed to go last year, but had to cancel …

  1. I think you will be OK at the new job once you are settled into their routine and expectations. It's hard, I suspect, when you aren't in the office every day as learning about people and office culture remotely is just not the same as how you learn by being there. I've learned that the hard way as I've worked remote for 5 years. Many people I worked with prior to March 2020 have retired or moved on. Fortunately my immediate co-workers are still the same but change is coming soon. I retired during COVID (already planned and I had given notice) but came back part time during the lockdown when there was nothing else to do. I enjoy it but at some point I need to retire completely. We'll see. Congrats on not gaining the Holiday 5 -10. It isn't easy to avoid it.
