Ramblings
We went out for steak last night. Local place, not a chain. The waitstaff wear t shirts that say “OMG I know the owner too.” The owner can usually be found behind the host desk. Last time we were there was August, the night we found out one of our favorite seafood places had closed.
So I tried the chair yoga videos I linked to the other day. And it’s real yoga! Most of what you find on YouTube when you search “chair yoga”; is really just calisthenics and stretching in a chair — not a bad workout, but … not yoga.
I used to take a yoga class … l loved doing the poses … until the day I did “Warrior pose” and my right knee said “No!” But chair yoga will be gentle on my knees.
And it felt good to do the poses, to feel the stretch. Namaste.
I took a walk yesterday, for the first time in a couple of weeks. I’ve been using the treadmill because of the weather. Yesterday was very cold, but I needed to get outside. And it was a good walk, about 2 miles.
Most of my neighbors still have their Christmas decorations up. It was too cold to take photos — I didn’t want to take off my gloves. One house had a real snowman, but for the most part the snow has melted. I was sad to see that the 10 foot skeleton was gone — they’d dressed it as the Grinch, but it was blown apart by the wind before Christmas and they never put it back up.
Ran into Walmart to pick up a few necessities…it’s already Valentine’s Day at Walmart. Too soon! I still have peppermint bark, I’m not ready for heart shaped chocolates.
Good news on the YouTube front … Mr.Ballen is changing his schedule. He’s going back to his earlier format, 3-4 uploads each week. He cut back on the videos when he started doing podcasts. I liked the podcasts, but now the videos will double as podcasts. So I only have to follow one format, and he will be providing lots of content.
Still bingeing old movies. The other night we saw Mr. And Mrs. Smith, a comedy starring Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Yes, Hitchcock directed a comedy. Very funny, even if the premise is very dated.
But the holidays are over and new episodes of our TV shows will be back soon.
And then there’s this
You need to get yourself some texting gloves for photos in the cold. I'm rather partial to There's Something About Harry for funny Hitchcock. That was Hitchcock, wasn't it? I may be misremembering.
ReplyDeleteYou’re thinking about “The Trouble With Harry”, a dark comedy directed by Hitchcock.
