Ramblings
So we are hunkered down and riding out the storm. The temperature dropped a lot yesterday, it’s artic. The snow has started. The forecast has changed, the total we are expecting is now 9 inches if snow — still enough to disrupt the railroad and airports, enough to close schools and libraries and etc.
But the house is warm and cozy, we have plenty of food, and we will be just fine.
Of course, the storm means no walk through the neighborhood … but I do have the treadmill and I bought another toy…
It should be here by Wednesday.
I had an appointment with my doctor last week, and he ordered bloodwork. No surprise there. I’m still waiting to talk to him about all of the results, but when I looked at the Patient Portal … my celiac panel shows no evidence of disease — which happens sometimes when you stick to a gluten free diet. It’s a good thing …
I mean, I’m not happy about the food restrictions, but I do feel healthier. And that’s the goal, isn’t it?
Did you catch this week’s episode of The Pitt? One of the patients being treated in the ER was a survivor of the Tree of Life shooting. Very moving story.
We’ve also been bingeing Star Trek:Strange New Worlds. We hadn’t seen this series before. I love everything about Star Trek, don’t know why we didn’t make time to watch this until now.
With all the streaming services, there’s just too much to watch …
At least the treadmill is set up in front of the TV. So I’m not completely lazy.
The storm will pass soon enough, and then we have to break out the snow blower. At least we won’t have to shovel.
On my Ring app, far too many of my neighbors are posting that they’re still trying to find a store that hasn’t run out of ice melt, far too many of them are looking to hire someone to clear the snow for them.
But we’ll use the snow blower. And until then, we’ve got food, we’ve got entertainment, we’re doing just fine.
