another this and that
So this happened:
Of course we streamed Hamilton. Broadway and American history, two of our favorite things. And I absolutely loved it. If and when Broadway ever reopens, I'd like to get tickets to see it live.
I mean, how can you resist King George?
And who could forget this performance at the 2016 Tony Awards?
Another show I'd like to see ... The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced a new version of 1776 for next season. All of the roles -- Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. -- will be played by women. I love the movie.
And I loved the Broadway revival with Brent Spiner:
We also saw a regional theater company production a few years ago.
And then there was the "Encores" production a few years ago. Scaled down, the actors often hold their scripts while performing...
The City Center Encores! production of Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone's Tony-winning musical1776 is being presented March 30-April 3. The musical about how the Founding Fathers drafted the Declaration of Independence stars Santino Fontana (John Adams), Bryce Pinkham (John Dickinson), John Larroquette (Benjamin Franklin), Christiane Noll (Abigail Adams), Nikki Renée Daniels (Martha Jefferson) and Alexander Gemignani (Edward Rutledge). Garry Hynes directs.
A bit weird, right?
But the production coming up in the spring...that will be even weirder. But I am sure we will enjoy.
Yes, the Hamilton thing has been everywhere. Glad you got to see it.
