Renfaire!
Our annual visit to the New York Renaissance Faire was last Sunday. Great day. The weather was cool and autumnal, the leaves are just starting to turn. We had some light rain midafternoon, but otherwise no issues with the weather.
We got to see all our favorites.
As we entered the Faire we saw some of Robin Hood’s band. Robin Hood and Maid Marion always take part in the Faire.
Aaron Bonk does an act with whips, swords and fire.
You may recall we saw Aaron Bonk on our cruise in December 2022.
Next up was Mythic Madness, a comedy and a display of stage fighting.
In addition to the Robin Hood story, the Faire also features the Queen and her court. The two storylines come together during the living chess match, where Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham engage in combat.

Next up, the Magikhana Show with Arsene Dupin. He is a magician who performs his show without any dialogue, just gestures and facial expressions. He is sarcastic, slightly obnoxious, and very entertaining.
From there we went to see the Flaming Ginger, a juggler.
Next up was Cirque du Sewer, an animal act featuring cats and rats. You may have seen Melissa Arleth and the rats on America’s Got Talent a few years ago.

Melissa was not in New York on Sunday. She was at another Faire in North Carolina (the act was double booked, the first weekend in North Carolina was the last weekend in New York), so her assistant Vasily performed. He and his assistant did a nice job. If you didn’t know what was the usual show …
The last event of the day is the joust. We pay extra to sit in the grandstand instead of on the grass. Our section rooted for the blue and silver knight.
And the Mistress of Chivalry ran the event.
Which ended in hand to hand combat.
Looks like fun.
