October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  As you may know I am a cancer survivor, my nightmare year was 2005.  This year I will be at Jones Beach on October 19, a participant in the American Cancer Society event “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”.

    I used to do Relay for Life. I'm not a cancer survivor but my mother in law (three bouts with cancer, including two with breast cancer)and my late childhood best friend (survived ovarian cancer, did not survive possibly 9-11 related non small cell lung cancer) were, and I walked in their honor. The American Cancer Society is a worthy organization.
