This and that
Drew has been under the weather the last few days, some sort of virus. Duchess, a very empathetic cat, is clinging to him. When he had Covid back in 2020, she never left his side.
I got my flu shot yesterday. My doctor told me that the shot should protect me all winter. He said I should wait about a month for the Covid booster, there isn’t much Covid around right now and the shot is only effective for 4-6 months. I always react to the Covid shot, the day after the shot I sleep all day.
Today I read a newspaper article about how the shingles vaccine also helps prevent blot clots, heart attack, strokes and vascular dementia. Glad I got that one awhile ago. I still remember how sick I felt when I got the chicken pox, I was four years old …
Hurricane Melissa is bearing down on Jamaica … I hope they’ll be ok. It’s a beautiful island, we were there during our cruise in 2016. We saw the Green Grotto (a series of caves) and Drew climbed Dunns River Falls. I ate jerk chicken and he had goat.
That was the year we cruised in October, and the ship was decorated for Halloween.
Cold and damp here today. It almost feels like we skipped fall and went straight from summer into winter,
I took a walk at lunchtime. The neighborhood is really gearing up for Friday.
Yes, that last photo is my kitchen window. You can actually see the window clings today because it’s cloudy, no reflections.
By the time I came home from the walk I was freezing … I just had to make a cup of hot cocoa …
Chicken pox at 4? Lucky. I got it when I was 19. It was finals week my sophomore year of college. Great memories...
