More this and that

 The other day during my walk I saw a house decorated for Diwali.  Frankly, in this neighborhood I’m surprised I saw only one house decorated for the holiday.  But I have been hearing fireworks at night, so I’m sure there were many celebrations. I’m told it’s called the Festival of Lights and represents the victory of good vs. evil, of light vs. darkness.  We could all use more light in this world,

There were supposed to be “natural fireworks” a/k/a a meteor shower Tuesday, but it rained. Of course.

Celestial event = rainy night. Sigh. Maybe for the next meteor shower…

So the World Series starts Friday night.  We might watch some of it.  The Dodgers swept the Brewers in the National League championship…as a Mets fan I’m not sure who I dislike more …

… but in the American League the Mariners/Blue Jays series went to 7 games. I watched that last game.    I’ll admit I rooted for Seattle.  But the enthusiasm of the crowd in Toronto was infectious.  I remember that feeling, the last time we Mets fans felt it was in 2015.  So when the Blue Jays won … I guess I am happy for Toronto fans.

And the fact that we are going to hear Oh Canada tomorrow night certainly doesn’t hurt. 

And then we can move on to football.  Or not.  The Giants are not having a good season.  And the Jets … I think Jen is getting ready to burn her green and white jersey.  An 0-7 record is an embarrassment. Maybe next year …
