Saturday 9
All I Have to Do Is Dream
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: All I Have to Do Is Dream (1958)
9) Random question -- Do you believe we each get one true love?

Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.
1) Did you dream last night?
1) Did you dream last night?
Of course. Do I remember the dreams? Of course not. I never do.
2) In this song, The Everly Brothers dream of kissing "lips of wine." Do you prefer red or white wine?

I like sparkling wines, like prosecco and champagne.
3) In 1975, Rolling Stone ranked Phil and Don #1 on their list of the greatest duos of all time. Name another musical twosome.
Simon and Garfunkel.
4) Mike Love has acknowledged the influence The Everly Brothers had on The Beach Boys' harmonies. What's your favorite Beach Boys song?
5) The pressure of touring took its toll on the Everly Brothers' personal relationship, and those stresses spilled onto the stage. They once had a fight in front their audience that ended with Phil smashing his guitar and storming off. Have you ever busted something in anger?
No, but I have known people who have.
6) One of Don's friends was author/storyteller Garrison Keillor and that's how the Everly Brothers came to perform on Keillor's radio program, A Prairie Home Companion. Do you often listen to the radio or to podcasts?

Alexa, play some Billy Joel...
7) The brothers chose to live in different cities and held opposite views on politics. Don said, "Everything is different about us, except when we sing." Do you have siblings? If so, are you more alike or different?
I have three sisters.
8) In 1958, the year this song was a hit, Americans were doing the Cuban dance, the cha-cha-cha. Do you ever dance or sing when you're home alone?

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!
I usually just ask Alexa to play something, too. I have a favorites list and she seems to know I prefer 1970s and 1980s music.
ReplyDeleteA,exa learns your preferences…
DeleteOK... mums the word and we can all still dance in the kitchen...💃🏻🕺🏻👀
ReplyDeleteAlexa doesn’t live here so we have to load an iPod. Love it.
Oh! I wish I could drink sparkling wine! It sounds so elegant.
ReplyDeleteI think we Sat 9ers should have a dance party. Loved your answers. Have a nice weekend.

I've GOT to find my Dot. It's around here somewhere, I just can't remember where. I don't talk to it though (weirds me out). I just sling stuff from Amazon music to it from my phone.
ReplyDelete#2 I had my first glass of prosecco last month a couple took me out to dinner for a belated birthday present.
ReplyDeleteSo, does that mean they were the first to smash a guitar on stage? Because we all know that became a thing.
