Music Monday

So Thursday night we headed into the city to see a show.

Jonathan Groff plays Bobby Darin. The theater is set up as a nightclub, Darin’s favorite venue.  Groff tells Darin’s life story and sings all of his hits.

Enjoy.

  1. He's excellent and love the performances. The lady singing the Connie Francis hit is stellar

  2. I love these performances. No, it isn't because Bobby Darin went to my high school (years before I did, of course). It's because knowing that Darin died when he was only 37, he managed to pack a lot into his short life. And, it's because Groff's voice is so close to Darin's that Darin comes alive for our enjoyment. I almost feel cheated that You Tube only provided you with a clip of Groff singing Mack the Knife, but if I had closed my eyes I wouldn't have known it wasn't Bobby. I enjoyed the performance of Beyond the Sea (the dancers weren't bad, either).
