  Commentary on the weather. The strange car is gone.  I didn’t see it leave.   But my next-door neighbor was on my driveway a little while ago.  He’s got all sorts of flowering shrubs  right on the property line.  Brought his leaf blower onto my driveway to clean up the mess his plants made. Did you watch the All-Star Game?  Weird way to break a tie and the game.  Swing off.    Four Mets — Diaz, Peterson, Lindor and Alonso — were sent to the game, and all four played. I’m so annoyed. I just cut the tag off of brand new biker shorts, put them on and saw that they have a hole in one leg.  I bought these shorts two months ago — the package contained three pair of biker shorts, and the other two pair were fine. I guess this pair is meant to be worn only at home.  Why yes, I do own the street in front of my house! Not really, of course.  But … Most of the houses on this street have driveways that can accommodate more than one car.  Our driveway can fit four.  And people who have more cars than their driveway can accommodate tend to park in front of their own house. It’s different on weekends, when many people have visitors, but generally speaking no one ever parks in front of our house. Not liking the weather lately — overcast, cloudy, hot and humid.  We’re expecting rain later. The balloon from my birthday last winter is finally dying.  So Friday night we saw the latest Jurassic World movie.  The plot is formulaic, but the special effects are terrific, and it’s a lot of fun trying to figure out who is going to be eaten by a dinosaur.🦕  We plan to see the new Superman movie soon.  It’s supposed to be the best since the Christopher Reeve movies.  It’s also a bit controversial, it’s considered “woke”.  Clearly not a problem for me. We went to the Pinafore cast party Sunday.  They had a membership meeting before the party.  Drew was elected to the governing board, and I’m going to be on the finance committee.   Still no word on which show they’re doing next season.   It’s the All-Star break, so no Mets games this week.
