Nice tribute. It's interesting that in the interview in Sloop John B, they mentioned the Kingston Trio. The Kingston Trio did record the song, but the actual song was adapted from a folk song that is over 100 years old. The Weavers version from the 1950's is interesting, too, but the Beach Boys' arrangement made it their own. I love that song so much.

ReplyDeleteI was in chorus in junior high. We sang Sloop John B. But instead of “drinking all night …” we sang “walking all night …”
DeleteWhat a great tribute to 2 giants. Funny seeing them in their prime. I can't think they were in their 80s.
