Ramblings

 It’s a CLE day.

“CLE” is “Continuing Legal Education” .  I’m required to take a certain amount of continuing education every year in order to maintain my license.  That used to mean I’d have to travel, usually to a bar association facility or someone’s law office, and sit in a conference room for a couple of hours.  Now I just sign onto Zoom at the appointed time.  I’ll be earning two hours of credit today while sitting at home in my pajamas …

The wind is howling again today.  But at least it’s warm, above freezing.  Last week’s snow is beginning to melt.   We’re supposed to get another storm this weekend, but it looks like we’re more likely to get rain.  I prefer rain … but whatever precipitation comes, that’s good — we’re still technically in a drought situation.

And I’m inside, warm and dry.  Working from home means I don’t have to deal with bad weather.

Latest TV binge?  We are Star Trek fans.  Remember there was a series starring Scott Bakula, a prequel series called Enterprise?  It ran for four seasons starting in 2001.  I liked the show, and I’ve always liked Bakula (I saw every episode of Quantum Leap), but saw only a handful of episodes. Well, there’s a cable station that’s showing all of the classic Star Trek series, so we’ve been loading episodes of Enterprise onto the DVR.  After we finish the current binge, we will start watching the reboots …

Baseball will be back soon.  Pitchers and catchers report February 12.  That’s just two weeks away!  The Mets have done well building the team in the off season, though Pete Alonso’s fate remains unknown,    Im excited for the new season.

(I’m not much of a football fan, so the upcoming Super Bowl isn’t capturing my interest.)

But if baseball is back, can spring be far behind?

  1. I am so grateful for WFH especially days like today, when we had three snow squall warnings. I love my 30 second commute! My husband, now that football season is almost over, can't wait for baseball season.

  2. All of the Star Trek series are on Paramount +. One of these days I'm going to do a Deep Space 9 rewatch. It was on at an interesting time in my life, so I never saw the whole thing. But I've only been keeping up with the newer ones: Picard, Brave New Worlds, Lower Decks, etc.

    1. The only new one I’ve seen is Picard. I’ve seen every episode if all if the old series and all the movies including the reboots.

  3. Bakula was also on "NCIS: New Orleans." Did you watch that?

Thank God baseball season's finally starting.

  4. I've never seen any of Bakula's Star Trek. Never was a fan of his. A lot of the others, originals and older spinoffs are good.
